EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (ERAP)

If you already completed an application for Solano County ERAP, you will be contacted about the status of your application

If you did not submit an approved application to the County's program, you can submit an application to the State's Housing is Key website: https://housing.ca.gov/ ​

              County of Solano has partnered with Catholic Charities of Yolo-Solano, Inc. to provide emergency rent and utilities assistance to tenants living in Solano County who have been impacted by the COVID19 pandemic through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program, also known as ERAP.  The goal of this program is to keep individuals and families in their homes and to reduce the financial burden of both tenants and property owners.   

             Tenants living in Solano County, as well as Landlords of rental properties located in Solano County, are encouraged to apply.  All applicants must meet eligibility criteria and provide required supporting documents before being approved to receive assistance.

ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE:

  • Rent Arrears Assistance: Rental Assistance for past rent owed for the months of  April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021:​

    • 100% Assistance for Rental Arrears ​

 

  • Utilities Arrears Assistance: Utilities Assistance for past utilities owed for the months of April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021:

    • 100% Assistance for Utilities Arrears​

  • Rental Assistance: for rent Rental Assistance for rent owed during April 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021:

    • This assistance can be approved for up to 3 months at a time, with possibility of renewal.​​

  • Utilities Assistance: Utilities assistance for utilities owed during April 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021:

    • This assistance can be approved for up to 3 months at a time, with possibility of renewal.​

  • Provide Housing Stability Case Management for low-income applicants.

  • Provide educational resources such as

    • Employment opportunities 

    • Public Health Guidelines & Resources

    • Food Bank/Food Pantry Resources, as well as CalFresh

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

  • Renter must reside in Solano County

  • Head of household over 18 years of age

  • Renter, or Household Member, must have suffered loss of income, incurrent significant costs, or financial hardship due to COVID19.

  • Renter must be able to demonstrate housing instability.

  • Household income at or below 80% Average Median Income for Solano County

    • 2020 Taxes, 2020 W-2

    • Paystubs, Unemployment Benefits Statement

    • Means-Tested Benefit Award Letter

  • Financial hardship due to COVID19:

    • Unpaid bills due to COVID19

    • Loss of employment or reduction of work-hours due to COVID19

  • Loss of income due to COVID19

    • Employer letter

    • Unemployment Benefits Statement

    • Personal business Profit & Loss Statement

  • Significant Costs due to COVID19

    • Billing statements showing costs due to COVID19

  • Other documents may be requested and required to establish eligibility.

    • Property Deed of Trust

    • Mortgage Note

    • Property Tax Statement

    • Homeowner Insurance

    • *Property Management agreement

 

  • To confirm rent amount owed:

    • Lease Agreement

    • Payment ledger for Tenant

    • Receipts of Rent received from Tenant
